On this spectacular morning during a 10 day kayak trip along the shore of Lake Yellowstone, the sun is rising directly behind two cinder cone peaks. The scene invokes an image of an erupting volcano, which is particularly apt because this lake overlies the supervolcano known as the Yellostone Caldera. The geothermal heat of this sleeping giant powers the iconic geysers of the park and we could swim in certain parts of the lake that were warmed by the same energy. It's an amazing place.
Light, Water,Air, and Time. These are the basic elements of life. Without all four, living things on this small and fragile planet would not exist. Our remote ancestors intuitively understood this. They revered these crucial elements in legends, drawings, and ceremony. I believe that we are innately attracted to imagery, poetry, songs, and words that contain these elements because a deep part of our collective soul knows that these things are the very pillars of our home, our origin.
